While the hysteria surrounding recent events regarding Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 US election has reached a crescendo, it’s important to not get caught up in a wave of emotions and stick to the facts.
For those of you who are basking in a warm fuzzy glow of satisfaction that Trump is in meltdown right now and about to be impeached, let’s look at what actually came out of the Mueller indictments:
- Paul Manafort, Rick Gates and some guy nobody has ever heard of, George Papadopolous were all arrested
- Manafort and Gates’ indictments were for multiple crimes. Most serious of which were money laundering and not registering as foreign agents when lobbyists for Ukraine’s government between 2006 – 2015
- They both pleaded not guilty
- The charges against them have nothing to do with the Trump Presidential campaign
- Papadopolous pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI about the timeline of a meeting he had with a Russian professor
- Papadopolous also sent an email up the campaign chain advising that Russia wished to meet Trump
- There is still no proof of “collusion”
That’s it. Those bullet points are the only facts which are of any importance in this matter.
Not exactly “huge”, is it? Not when you actually break the facts down.
So, why is that the news cycle has gone into overdrive as if another 9/11 has happened? Why has Social Media exploded into a mushroom-cloud of self-vindication on the left? Why are ‘liberals’ championing this as the beginning of the end for Trump?
Simple answer: Hope.
There’s no doubt Trump is a narcissistic demagogue who is dangerous for the country, and by extension, the world. There’s no doubt he’s a complete fucking moron who has no clue what he’s doing and only cares about himself and his image. It’s clear that he will almost certainly finish his term(s) as one of the worst Presidents to ever enter office in American history.
Which is why so many hope he’ll be gone very soon.
I do, too.
But that hope should not blind us from the real truth here:
In Washington, whether they are Democrats or Republicans, they’re all fucking corrupt!
Name a person who works in politics who isn’t corrupt. I’m sure you can all come up with one or two – I know I can.
But, can you name five or six?
I highly doubt it. The chances are you can name three at the most, and they’re probably the same three politicians everybody else names.
Which is why I have, and always will unless proved otherwise, thought the whole investigation into Russian “collusion” into the 2016 election is bullshit.
Sure, Russia tried to interfere with it- they always do. Just as the US has tried to interfere with elections around the world on multiple occasions in history. But any suggestion that Trump is in power right now because of Russia is just deluded.
And sure, Trump is an asshole of epic proportions, who is no doubt as corrupt as it gets. I am positive that if we saw his tax returns he’d be in debt for BILLIONS to Russian banks. And I am certain that he is using his position of power right now to make BILLIONS, as well.
But “collusion” with Russia to win an election? Nope, that will never be proven.
Just as with Manafort and Gates though, evidence of Trump’s corruption might come about as a result of the FBI investigation.
However, that’s a different story to the “collusion” one.
Manafort and Gates have been indicted on crimes which if we were to really think about it, nearly every lobbyist and politician in Washington is probably guilty of. Bribery and corruption is the norm in Washington, which is why so many citizens can’t even be bothered to vote.
The mainstream media though, they know that the collusion story sells. They know the collusion narrative gets clicks on their websites and shares on social media. In spite of the fact that most of the people they interview are paid by groups to have their opinion.
All I have to say on the matter is this:
God bless Jimmy Dore for saying what I and many others have concluded about “Indictment Day” so far.
Watch his latest video below. If you’re still on the “collusion train”, you may want to get off at the next station after watching it.
The big story here is, whether they’re Democrats or Republicans, they’re all fucking corrupt.
It’s a big club, and you ‘aint in it.
Before you go:
Polling has huge sway in how politicians think, and being active in it also brings other rewards. The more active you are in polling, the more rewarded you are. I-Say offer many differing rewards based upon how many “points” you accumulate, usually in the form of gift cards.
In essence, you get rewarded for your time filling out a few questions, and also make your voice heard at the same time, shaping the future.
It really does make a huge difference. So if you are in the US and Canada and have a couple of minutes spare, click this link, then simply fill out the information in the box, and confirm your email address. You’ll be ready to go after that.
